COMMITTEE REPORTS:

·        The money allotted last year to installing outdoor hoops will be used this year since building and grounds will be repaving the outside courts this summer as opposed to last summer. Mr. Maisonet has already given recommendations as to appropriate backboard, hoops, nets and balls for PTO to purchase that are for outdoor use.  Mr. Schmidt suggested PTO wait until court is paved than order items and once items are in, complete a work order to have items installed.

·        Lisa Morasse did first Double Dutch program for COHES. There were 56 attendees which met the hoped attendance.  It is reported by students that it went well. 452.00 dollars collected with $304.20 in profit.  Kim will email Sandi Kessner about Thank you(s) to Price Chopper $10.00, Hannaford $25.00, Adams $20.00.

·        PTO books from last year are now audited Thanks to Sandi Kessner and MaryJo Hughes.

·        Matt for front entrance will be ordered by the end of this week.

·        Five positions are open for PTO officers for next year, they are: 1st Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasure, and Grade Parent. May meeting officers will be nominated for next school year.

·        Need someone to run theatre for next year, open to suggestions for change.  Interested individuals can contact Sheila Reed and /or Pam Hawks.  Hillary Vallet and Margret Quinn have express some interest with this position at this time and will follow up with contact people mentioned above.

·        OK to put information related to boy scouts open registration held at COHES front lawn on website once it is approved by central administration.

·        Letter to go out for Kindergarten parents during registration asking for volunteers for PTO.

·        Lifetouch photographers will be used again next year. This is a Central administration decision not a PTO decision.  School has asked for same photographers that school has had positive experiences with.

·        Jayme Weis reported that the Year book is going fine.  Lots of pictures are being received for yearbook.  New Due date for pictures to be submitted to Jamie is the end of July 2008.  This is due to parents wanting to have graduation, ice cream socials, field day,… in year book. Therefore, year books will be here early next year.  Sharon Z will help Jamie with the process of distribution for 4th graders once in middle school. (46 fourth graders).  Question brought up if the year book should be dedicated to anyone this year. PTO officers will consider this topic.

·        Sharon Zanin reported that she is working on organizing the ice cream social scheduled for May 22, 2008.

·        Book fair reported to have total sales of $3,500. Had over $700.00 worth of free books awarded to the children who participated in the library reading program.  Also, the student body donated approx. $76.00 to “One for Books”. This means that $76.00 worth of books was donated to the school and that 76 books were donated, by Scholastics, to an organization that is in need of books.

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

AnnMarie W. Dunn, co-president
